Accreditation
As part of the accreditation application of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Gökçeada School of Applied Sciences, an accreditation site visit was carried out by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK) on 13-14-15 November.
During the opening part of the site visit program, briefings were given on the structure of the department and the unit, and a general introduction to the process was provided.
In the main part of the program, the TURAK evaluation team held comprehensive meetings with academic and administrative staff as well as students, and conducted examinations regarding the department's teaching and learning processes, physical facilities, and quality assurance mechanisms.
Within the scope of this stage, an invitation and dinner organization for the evaluation team and protocol members was held by the students of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts on 14 November 2025. In addition to the TURAK team, the event was attended by Gökçeada District Governor Osman Acar, Gökçeada Mayor Bülent Ecevit Atalay, ÇOMÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya, GUBY Director Assist. Prof. Dr. Hande Kandur Arslan, Gökçeada Vocational School Director Assist. Prof. Dr. Gülay Keskin, GUBY Deputy Director Lect. Özkan Yazar, GUBY Acting Secretary Medet Yıldırım, and academic staff. The menu prepared by the students was served to the guests, and the department's practical training competence was presented to the TURAK field team.
