The 3rd Traditional Creative Recipes Competition Was a Scene of Great Excitement

The third edition of the Traditional Creative Recipes Competition, which was also the first competition of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, themed "Coffee and Cocoa Flavors," was held on November 1, 2023, at GUBY with the support of Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi.

Organized by the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of Gökçeada School of Applied Sciences, the competition saw six teams striving to highlight coffee and cocoa flavors to achieve first place. The competition was fiercely contested, with GUBY academicians serving as judges. Participants presented their dishes not only to the judges but also to an audience of external stakeholders, including Gökçeada District Governor Nurbaki Yalçın and Gökçeada Deputy Mayor İnciser Çelik, Zafer Karadeniz, Nilay Çınar, Ecevit Atalay, Kadir Alaylı, Hasan Çelik, and Gülsen Aktaş.

The competition was won by the team RüSinDen, consisting of Yusuf Tahsin Çelt, Merve Deniz Ep, and Rüstem Şükür, with their dish "Surf & Turf." The team No Name, composed of Diyar Öğmen, Ekrem Ümitcan Çakmakçı, and Hilal Yıldırım, came in second with their dish "Demlenen Lezzet." The third place was awarded to the team Powerpuff, made up of Azime Kafadar, Hacer Gençoğlu, and Kevser Daş, for their dish "Bonris-Kafi."

During the award ceremony held after the competition, the winners received their awards, medals, and certificates of appreciation from the School Director Dr. Lecturer Hande Kandur Arslan, guest business owners, and the jury members.
