Alumni Workshop
Applied workshop events were held on 11 and 12 December 2025 by the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Gökçeada School of Applied Sciences within the scope of alumni relations.
As part of the events, one of our alumni, Lect. Furkan Burak Ünal, who currently serves as Head of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, Şarköy Vocational School, was welcomed at our school together with two of his students.
On 11 December 2025, a sushi practice session was held within the scope of the World Cuisines course, while on Friday, 12 December 2025, a workshop on making mock cakes from fondant was organized with the participation of all students. Through these hands-on events, students had the opportunity to gain experience in different culinary cultures and pastry techniques.
The event program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to Lect. Furkan Burak Ünal and his accompanying students by the Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Lect. Özkan Yazar, and the departmental academics.
The events organized in this context aim to contribute to strengthening alumni relations, to increase interaction between our alumni and our students, and to support the students' professional development processes.
